Confirmation
Lutheran beliefs on catechesis and confirmation
We believe everyone who wants to join the Lutheran church should be rightly catechized in the basics of our faith from the Holy Scriptures (Matthew 28:20) as summarized in The Small Catechism of Martin Luther. Afterward, they should be confirmed in the faith - that is, undergo the right of confirmation wherein those who have been instructed acknowledge God's gifts in their Holy Baptism and promise to remain faithful to the faith of the Lutheran church.
Catechetical instruction is offered to children when they reach the spiritual maturity required to go through instruction and confirmation.
Requesting catechesis
People or parents of children who wish to receive instruction in the faith should contact our pastors and arrange for classes. They are happy to provide it.
